Public Notice for 2013 Municipal General Election for the City of Fairmount
Notice is hereby given that, in accordance with O.C.G.A. 21-2-132 and O.C.G.A. 21-2-9 (b) a municipal general election will be held for the City of Fairmount on Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at the Fairmount Community Center 11921 Fairmount Hwy, Fairmount, Georgia from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Qualifying for the municipal general election shall be held at the Fairmount City Hall located at 2265 Hwy 411, Fairmount, Georgia, beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, August 26, 2013, and ending at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, August 30, 2013. Those positions that are up for election are:
Council Post #1-Incumbent Max Mulkey-Qualifying Fee $27.00
Council Post #3-Incumbent Jim Dodd-Qualifying Fee $27.00
Early voting will begin and absentee ballots will be available at the Gordon County Board of Elections and Voter Registration Office on Monday, October 14, 2013. Office hours are Monday – Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. The last day to cast your ballot early or to request an absentee ballot is Friday, November 1, 2013. The Gordon County Board of Elections Office is located in the Gordon County Annex Building at 101 S. Piedmont Street, Calhoun, Georgia.
The last day to register to vote for the municipal general election is Monday, October 7, 2013. Registration is available at the Gordon County Board of Elections Office, City Hall or other locations as required by Georgia Law.
