A complete set of bidding documents may only be obtained by contacting the office of The Howell Group, Inc., 965 Piedmont Road NE, Suite 100, Marietta, Georgia 30066. Telephone: (678) 354-5611, Fax: (678) 354-5612. Bidding Documents will be forwarded upon receipt of a non-refundable fee of $135.00 for each set of documents. Bid documents may be examined in the offices of the Architect and the Gordon County Purchasing Department.
Contractors shall submit with their Bid Proposal a properly executed Contractor’s Qualification Statement (A.I.A.Document A30. A current (prepared within one (1) year of the date Bid is submitted) reviewed financial statement shall be provided if requested by the Owner.
Proposals must be accompanied by Bid Security in the amount not less than five percent (5%) of the Base Bid. Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond, each in the amount equal to 100% of the contract sum, will be required of the successful bidder. Bonds must be written by a surety company licensed to do business in the State of Georgia, have a “Best’s” rating of “A” or better, appear on the current U.S. Treasury Department List of Sureties that are acceptable on bonds for the Federal Government (Circular 570), and have recommended bond limits equal to or in excess of those required for this Project; or otherwise acceptable to the Owner. A letter of credit issued by a local bank (located within Gordon County) in the amount of 5% of the base bid shall be acceptable in lieu of a bid bond.
No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after date of bid opening, unless otherwise specified. The competency and responsibility of bidders will be considered by the Owner in making the award. Gordon County reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any informalities, to reject portions of the bid, to waive technicalities and to award contracts in a manner consistent with the interest of the Owner and the laws of the State of Georgia.
