Public Notice: 2015 Millage Rate Public Hearings

The Gordon County Board of Commissioners has tentatively adopted a 2015 millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by 4.00 percent.

All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearing on this tax increase to be held at the County Administration Building, 201 North Wall Street, Calhoun, Georgia on Tuesday September 1, 2015 at 6:00 P.M.

Times and places of additional public hearings on this tax increase are at the County Administration Building, 201 North Wall Street, Calhoun, Georgia on Tuesday September 15, 2015 at 8:00A.M. and 6:00 P.M.

This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 9.930 mills, an increase of .382 mills. Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 9.548 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $125,000 is approximately $18.33 and the proposed tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $125,000 is approximately $19.10.
