Elections and Voter Registration Office Location

Voting by Mail Information/Absentee Voting

The earliest day to request an absentee ballot for the November 8, 2022 General Election is on August 22, 2022.  The last day to request an absentee ballot by mail is on Friday October 28, 2022.

When completing the application for an absentee ballot please complete all of the highlighted areas on the application.  If the application is not completed properly it will delay your absentee ballot.

Early Voting Information

Early voting for the November 8, 2022, General Election will begin on Monday, October 17th – Friday, November 4th.  Office hours are Monday – Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm.  Early Voting will be held at the Elections Office located at 408 Court Street, Calhoun, Georgia 30701 (across the street from the Calhoun Post Office).

Saturday Voting

For the November 8, 2022 General Election we will have early voting on:

  • Saturday, October 22nd
  • Saturday, October 29th

All Saturday voting is held in the Gordon County Board of Elections Office from 9 am until 5 pm, located at 408 Court Street, Calhoun, GA  30701.

Public Notice:  6/21/2022 Primary Runoff Risk Limiting Audit Information

The Risk Limiting Audit of the June 21, 2022 Primary Runoff will take place on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at the Gordon County Elections and Voter Registration Office which is located at 408 Court Street, Calhoun, Georgia.  The audit will begin at 12:30 PM and continue until complete.  Inquiries should be directed to the Chairperson of the Gordon County Board of Elections and Voter Registration, Shea Hicks at shicks@gordoncounty.org

Public Notice:  Democratic Primary Runoff Election Logic and Accuracy Testing

Notice is hereby given that the logic and accuracy testing and preparation of the voting equipment to be used in the June 21, 2022, Democratic Primary Runoff Election will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2022.  Such preparation and testing will continue from day to day until complete and is open to the public and members of the public are entitled to be present during the preparation and testing.  Said testing and preparation will be conducted at the Gordon County Board of Elections and Voter Registration Office located at 408 Court Street, Calhoun, Georgia.

Public Notice:  Special Called Meeting on May 31, 2022 at 10 am to certify Election Results

The Gordon County Board of Elections and Voter Registration hereby provides public notice of the Gordon County Board of Elections and Voter Registration intent to certify the May 24, 2022, General Primary Election/Nonpartisan Election Results on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at 10 am.

Certification will be held in the Gordon County Board of Elections and Voter Registration Office located at 408 Court Street, Calhoun, Georgia.

Public Notice:  Intent to Process Absentee Ballots Early for the May 24, 2022 General Primary/Nonpartisan Election

The Gordon County Board of Elections and Voter Registration hereby provides public notice of the Gordon County Board of Elections and Voter Registration intent to begin processing absentee ballots prior to the close of the polls on May 24, 2022.  Pursuant to State Election Board Rule 183-1-14-0.9-.15, the Gordon County Board of Elections and Voter Registration shall open absentee ballots and begin scanning absentee ballots on the following date:

  • May 24, 2022 at 5 p.m.

Scanning will be held in the Gordon County Board of Elections and Voter Registration Office located at 408 Court Street, Calhoun, Georgia.  This processing will not include any tallying or tabulation of results; only the opening of envelopes, ballot scanning and adjudication.
