4/19/11 Work Session Minutes
The Gordon County Board of Commissioners held a Work Session Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at 5:30 p.m. in the conference room of the Administration Building.
Chairman Bailey called the meeting to order.
The Board discussed each item on the agenda and made no changes. One item was added later in the meeting.
Administrator Dowling advised the Board that we have a Statement of Understanding Regarding Underlying Plans from CIGNA HealthCare to add to the agenda for approval. Administrator Dowling advised that the County’s health care program for employees will have no changes in coverage nor premium amounts, everything will stay the same.
Commissioner Long advised the Board that he’d received a request from the family of deceased Cpl. Charles D. Bennett to name the intersection at Dews Pond and Lovers Lane/Harmony Road, The Cpl. Charles D. Bennett Intersection. Cpl. Bennett was killed in Vietnam on July 7, 1968. Following discussion with Board members, there was a consensus of the Board to ask the County Attorney to draft a resolution or a proclamation, whichever is appropriate or necessary, to accomplish erecting a sign at this intersection designating it The Cpl. Charles D. Bennett Intersection.
Commissioner Long made a motion to go into Executive Session for real estate matters. Commissioner Hood seconded and all voted aye. Executive Session began at 5:45 p.m.
Commissioner Long made a motion to go back into the Work Session. Commissioner Hood seconded and all voted aye. Executive Session adjourned at 6:00 p.m.
Commissioner Long made a motion to adjourn the Work Session. Commissioner Steward seconded the motion and all voted aye. There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 6:00 p.m.
