GORDON COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
REGULAR SESSION MINUTES

The Gordon County Board of Commissioners held their Regular Meeting on May 3, 2022 beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the Judicial Building Assembly Room.

Chairman Hood called the meeting to order.

EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION

Employees with Anniversary Hire Dates in May. Commissioner Cunningham read the list of Employees with Anniversary Hire Dates in May. Commissioner Steward drew the name of Sue Henson as May Employee of the Month.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Chairman Hood asked if there are any additions, omissions, or deletions to the Minutes for the Work Session and Regular Meeting of April 19, 2022. Commissioner Potts made a motion to approve the Minutes. Commissioner Owens seconded the motion and Commissioners Owens, Potts, Cunningham, and Steward voted aye. Motion passed.

ADMINISTRATOR’S REPORT

Administrator Ledbetter read the report. Copy attached

COMMISSIONERS’ REPORT

Commissioner Owens reported that he attended the Northwest Georgia Regional Commission meeting, and also the ACCG Annual Meeting in Savannah.

Commissioner Potts reported that he sends best wishes to teachers for Teachers Appreciation Week. He attended the ACCG Annual Meeting in Savannah and attended the Arts, Culture and Tourism class, also attended the Innovative Ways to Work with County Sheriff class. He gave the department reports for Building & Grounds, Public Works, and Fleet Management.

Commissioner Steward advised that he attended the Political Forum, visited the BBQ & Blues. Also attended the Gordon County Finance Committee Meeting.

CONSIDERATION OF UNFINISHED BUSINESS

CONSIDERATION OF NEW BUSINESS

PROCLAMATION IN RECOGNITION OF LAW ENFORCEMENT APPRECIATION WEEK

Commissioner Steward read the Proclamation in Recognition of Law Enforcement Appreciation Week May 11 through May 17, 2022 and presented it to Sheriff Mitch Ralston and to Chief Deputy Robert Paris.

BOARD ACCEPTANCE OF COUNTY SEAL EMBLEM

Mr. Bill Kulhman came before the Board and presented Board Members with a County Seal Emblem that he created to be installed on the front of the Board of Commissioners platform table located in the Judicial Building assembly room.

Board members thanked Mr. Kulhman and accepted the County Seal Emblem.

ADJOURNMENT

Commissioner Cunningham made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Commissioner Steward seconded the motion and Commissioners Potts, Cunningham, Steward, and Owens voted aye.

There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 6:32 p.m.
