5/19/09 Work Session Minutes
The Gordon County Board of Commissioners held a Work Session Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. in the Administration Building Conference Room.
Chairman Long called the meeting to order.
The Board discussed each item on the Agenda for the Regular Meeting and made no changes; one item was added later in the meeting.
Judge Marvin Broyles spoke to the Board regarding the employees of the Magistrate Court office and informed the Board that one of his employees will be retiring due to health reasons and he would like to hire a replacement so that his employee will have time to train her replacement before she retires.
Mr. Frank Aaron, CEO of Highland Rivers gave a quarterly report to the Board regarding the progress being made to implement new mental health programs.
The Board then discussed eliminating the retired employee health insurance program. Following the discussion, there was a consensus of the Board to add this item to the Regular Meeting agenda. Commissioner Gordon made a motion to adjourn the Work Session. Commissioner Bailey seconded and all voted aye.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 6:40 p.m.
