8/04/09 Work Session Minutes
The Gordon County Board of Commissioners held a Work Session Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. in the Administration Building Conference Room.
Chairman Long called the meeting to order.
The Board discussed each item on the Agenda for the Regular Meeting; one item was added to the agenda by Administrator Dowling for the Sheriff’s Department to declare two vehicles surplus property.
Judge Marvin Broyles, Magistrate Court, came before the Board to request a budget amendment for his department to change a part-time position to a full-time position. No action was taken by the Board.
Commissioner Bailey made a motion to go into Executive Session for real estate matters. Commissioner Gordon seconded the motion and all voted aye. Executive Session began at 6:45 p.m.
Commissioner Bailey made a motion to adjourn Executive Session and go back into the Work Session. Commissioner Gordon seconded the motion and all voted aye. Executive Session adjourned at 6:55 p.m.
Due to the large number in the audience, Chairman Long advised that the Board would go into the Regular Meeting in a few minutes and when that meeting adjourned, he would be available to answer any questions from the audience.
Commissioner Bailey made a motion to adjourn the Work Session. Commissioner Gordon seconded and all voted aye.
There being no further business, the Work Session adjourned at 6:57 p.m.
