Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting
Gordon County has been awarded a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR) for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2011.
Gordon County’s CAFR has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of disclosure” to clearly communicate the county’s financial story and motivate potential users to read the CAFR.
The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
Gordon County Finance Director, Al Leonard, is to be commended for preparing the award winning CAFR. Mr. Leonard has been awarded this Certificate of Achievement seven years in a row.
GFOA is a non-profit professional association serving approximately 17,500 government finance professionals with offices in Chicago, IL and Washington, D.C.
