Qualifying Information

2021 General Municipal Election Candidates Qualifying:

Qualifying for all Municipal Elections:  Candidates wishing to have their name on the municipal ballot will qualify at their City Hall located in the following municipalities.

  • City of Calhoun-qualifying begins at 8:30 a.m. Monday, August 16th and will end on Wednesday, August 18th at 4:30 p.m.
  • City of Plainville-qualifying begins at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 17th and will end on Thursday, August 19th at 5:30 p.m.
  • City of Fairmount-qualifying begins at 8:30 a.m. Monday, August 16th and will end on Wednesday, August 18th at 4:30 p.m.
  • Town of Resaca-qualifying begins at 8:30 a.m. Monday, August 16th and will end on Wednesday, August 18th at 4:30 p.m.

2021 Election Dates and Qualifying Information

2022 General Primary Election and Nonpartisan Election Candidates Qualifying:

Candidates wishing to have their name on the ballot for the 2022 General Primary/Nonpartisan Election begins at 9 a.m., Monday, March 7, 2022 and will end at Noon, Friday, March 11, 2022.  All Democratic and Republican candidates will qualify with their political party.  Nonpartisan candidates will qualify with the Gordon County Board of Elections and Voter Registration office.  For information on what offices are up for election please call the Gordon County Board of Elections and Voter Registration Office at (706) 629-7781.
