Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act
For many years the Federal Voting Assistance program (FVAP) has monitored local jurisdictions in each state to determine when ballots are being mailed to citizens covered by the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA). This is to ensure that these citizens have as much time as possible to receive, vote, and return their absentee ballots. The state of Georgia has specified that local election officials mail absentee ballots “45” days before the election. For more information go to http://www.sos.ga.gov/elections/uocava
