House Bill 284, also known as The Return To Play Act, was signed into law by Governor Nathan Deal in April 2013. The Law requires Gordon County Parks & Recreation to provide parents or guardians with educational information pertaining to the nature and risk of concussion and head injury at the time of registration for any youth athletic activity. The Gordon County Parks & Recreation Department has been selected to host three Dizzy Dean State Baseball Tournaments. June 28 thru July 2 we will be hosting the state tournament for ages 6 and under as well as 14 and under. This tournament will bring approximately 30 teams to the Calhoun/Gordon County area. Beginning July 5 and continuing through July 9 we will host the state tournament for 8 year olds. This tournament will bring an additional 24 teams to our area.
