The Georgia Department of Transportation Regional Bridge Inspection Engineer has notified Gordon County that the two metal pipe culverts on East Red Bone Ridge Road are deficient and in need of replacement. In response to this the Gordon County Public Works Department will be replacing the culverts on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 weather permitting.
In order to replace the culverts, the Public Works Department will close East Red Bone Ridge Road for approximately 7-8 hours on the 7th.
Work will begin at 8:00 a.m. in order to ensure residents have time to commute to work. The road should reopen by 3:30 p.m. on the same day barring any unforeseen circumstances.
This is a complete road closure at the culverts and no vehicles will be able to cross the work area.
