The Victim Assistance Unit of the District Attorney’s office in the Cherokee Judicial Circuit cordially invites you to attend an event commemorating National Crime Victims’ Rights Week.
When: Friday, April 11, 2014 at 12:00 Noon
Where: The Depot – 109 South King Street, Calhoun.
What: An event to honor crime victims, increase public awareness and recognize agencies in our community who serve crime victims.
Who: Guest Speakers: Sandy Templeton, Founding Director of the Victim Assistance Unit, and Cindy Cochran, Director of the new Children’s Advocacy Center; A ceremonial live dove release by “A Dove’s Nest”; a Vocal Performance by Gordon Central Chorus, and a performance by the Sheriff’s “Black & Tans”
Why: Each April, communities throughout the country observe National Crime Victims’ Rights Week (NCVRW) by promoting victims’ rights and honoring crime victims and those who advocate on their behalf. In 2014, NCVRW will be observed April 6 -12, 2014 and the theme is “30 Years: Restoring the Balance of Justice.”
