Public Notice: Abandonment of a portion of Pearl Johnson Road

At the regular session meeting of the Board of Commissioners on August 7, 2018, the Board moved to certify its intent to abandon a portion of Pearl Johnson Road.

It is the Board’s intent to abandon that portion of Pearl Johnson Road described as follows:  To find the point of beginning of the portion to be abandoned start at the northeast intersection of the north right of way of Pittman Road and east right of way of Pearl Johnson Road and proceed in a northerly direction 2,904 feet to the point of beginning.  Thence proceed in a northerly direction along the east right of way of Pearl Johnson Road 1213 feet which point is the end of Pearl Johnson Road according to the official list of Gordon County Roads; thence proceed 50 feet from the eastern right of way of Pearl Johnson Road to the western right of way; thence proceed in a southerly direction along the western right of way of Pearl Johnson Road 1213 feet; thence proceed east across Pearl Johnson Road to the point of the beginning.

This is notice of intent of Gordon County to abandon this 1213-foot section of Pearl Johnson Road subject to all existing easements of record and platted rights of access from the county maintained asphalt road along the tract proposed to be abandoned and to the property of others.

In accordance with O.C.G.A 32-7-2, a Public Hearing will be held concerning same on October 2, 2018, at 6:00 p.m. in the Gordon County Administration Conference Room located at 201 North Wall Street Calhoun, Georgia 30701.
