At the regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners on October 16, 2018, the Board moved to certify its intent to abandon a portion of Johnson Lake Road.
It is the Board’s intent to abandon that portion of Johnson Lake Road described as follows:
All that tract or parcel of land lying and being in the 15th District and 3rd Section of Gordon County, Georgia and being part of Land Lot 208 thereof and being more particularly described as “Tract 1-A” containing 14,051 square feet (0.323 acres) as shown on a plat entitled “MINOR SUBDIVISION SURVEY prepared for CALHOUN INDUSTRIAL PROPERTIES, LLLP” dated September 13, 2018 by Glass and Associates Land Surveyors, P.C. with a copy of said plat being attached hereto as Exhibit “B”. Reference to said plat and the description of Tract “1-A” contained therein is incorporated by reference as if specifically stated herein.
Tract “1-A” is the east one half of the section of Johnson Lake Road to be abandoned. It is also the intent of Gordon County to abandon the west one half of Johnson Lake Road commencing at the southwest corner of “Tract 1-A” described above which is on the “center of abandoned Johnson Lake Road”; thence proceeding west to the western right of way of “abandoned Johnson Lake Road”; thence north to the intersection of the west right of way of Johnson Lake Road and the fence line shown on the above referenced plat; thence proceeding along the fence line in a northerly direction to the “center of abandoned Johnson Lake Road” as shown on said plat as the northwest corner of “Tract 1-A”; thence south along the “center of abandoned Johnson Lake Road” to the point of beginning.
It is the intent of Gordon County to abandon its interest in all of the closed portion of Johnson Lake Road between Union Grove Road on the north and the right of way of the new section of Johnson Lake Road on the south.
In accordance with O.C.G.A 32-7-2, a Public Hearing will be held concerning same on November 20, 2018, at 6:00 p.m. in the Gordon County Administration Conference Room located at 201 North Wall Street Calhoun, Georgia 30701.
