The road is now open

The Gordon County Public Works Department was required to close McDaniel Station Road between Highway 53 and Holcomb Road due to a culvert washout after heavy rainfall on February 6, 2020. The washout has completely undermined the road and exposed underground utilities including a 12-inch water main, fiber optic cable, telephone lines, and a high-pressure gas main.
The County has designated Liberty Road as an alternate route while repairs are underway.
Gordon County has consulted with an engineer to design an appropriate repair. The time frame for completion of the repair has not been determined and we hope to post an update on Monday, February 10. In the meantime, the road will remain closed this weekend and until further notice.

McDaniel Station Road is closed between Holcomb Road and Highway 53.
